Family – 2012

This year is almost over and another to begin. As I sit here looking at family pictures on FB I thank God for you all. I realize once again how much I miss our son Terry and son-in-law David and granddaughter Courtney. It has been a couple of years since we have seen them or visited with them. Thank goodness for pictures and the internet.
We have lost a couple of members of the family who we will definitely and truly miss.
On a sweeter and happier note we have expanded. Shandra our granddaughter is engaged to Jack and our family will grow as we proudly add Jack’s family to ours.
Ron and I started our family 49 years ago when we were only 19 years old ourselves. Christine our oldest made us a family. Then our son Terry and our last son Doug made us five members strong. They in turn now have families of their own.
Thank you Ron for being the one who started this amazing family with me. What started out as Ron and Chris has continued to grow.

Christine’s family is now Christine, Glenn and Shandra

Shandra’s family is now Shandra,Jack and Owen.

Terry’s family is now Terry, David and Courtney.

Doug’s family is now Doug, Linda and Ronnie.
Ronnie is only 7 so we have to wait a couple of years for him to make us even bigger.lol

You make me so proud I love you all and wish you the best for 2013. Happy New Year my dear family.

All too soon gone 2012

Everyone knows the saying, ‘Everything happens for a reason” well I can attest to that first hand. My grandson was playing on my laptop when all of a sudden I heard, “Sorry Grammies.” I knew that very second I was either going to have to rewrite something or reinstall something. At 67 one would think I would know better than to leave programs open or not saved. I could hardly get upset for the stupidity was my own. I took a look to find the last two chapters of the sequel of my book gone. Ronnie could tell by the look on my face that he did something he was not supposed to do. When I asked him what had happened he said, “Grammies, I was writing like you do but, sorry by mistake I disappeared it.” His huge blue eyes welling up made me grab him and as tight as I could without breaking him I said,’Honey it was Grammies fault for not protecting her woke first. You are not to blame. Grammies will start new ok?”
“Ok Grammies. I love you. I will be careful next time ok?”
With that I thought that maybe other things I have done last year should be new. So here it is. I have started a new blog. New colours, posts and new friends. Many are friends of my old friends.

I have had an amazing year 2012. I became a published author, self published at that. I sold over 250 book and 38 e books in less than 7 months. I have been added to the library of St Leonard’s Society and my book A Hairdresser’s Diary is in every one of their group homes. The director of St Leonard’s gave me an amazing compliment. He said, “Chris I cannot think of a greater role model than you for these kids.” I have made friends with some of the most amazing authors, and delightful people anyone could imagine.

I want to thank you all for your support both in my writing and my art ( there are several more place now that have my painting in their homes or places of business since last year)  and when we lost 5 family members to become Angels of God you were there for us.

It is not possible to thank you all enough, it means so much to me. Those who liked me on Facebook and in my Amazon book store made me visible to those who purchased and read my books. Thank you.
This year I published ‘A Hairdresser’s Diary’ – memoirs, ‘A Cut Above Discrimination’ – short story and ‘Versify’ – my book of poems. 2013 will bring a sequel to ‘A Hairdresser’s Diary’.
I look forward to the many new friendships I will make and to continue to enjoy the friendships I have already made.
Bless you all and have a Happy New Year.
