A chat with Sherri

bok-signing-0021

As an author, especially a first time author, I am excited when given the opportunity to share my story. It is awesome when a reader e mails or calls me with a wonderful testimonial or  when I get five-star comments on Amazon or any other media site. I have been honoured with many wonderful interviews through the posts of many amazing people, some being authors themselves. So on Feb 26th at 10:30 PST I will be privileged to do a radio interview with Sherri Rabinowitz and a chance to get the word out about my book A Hairdresser’s Diary and the sequel I am now writing. If you have a moment on that day, please tune in at the link below.

When family and friends notice the little things.

I had my eyes opened yesterday and what a delightful surprise. I is amazing how many family and friends noticed and followed the things I am doing with my book. My heart was touch when several asked me how my book signings went. Even more encouraging was the fact that even though I am the first author in the family I certainly am not going to be the only. Three other family members were talking to me about their books or pending books. I can only wish that I might have had just a little influence on their decision.

I had compliments on my cover and title which made me feel proud. Some even remember me looking like that.

I am working on ‘A Hairdresser’s Diary’ sequel and this support will make it so much more enjoyable to write.

I have had several customers and friends ask to please be included in my new book and those who I’ve asked give a resounding yes to my request. I respect the trust they have put in me.

This is a thank you to you all both family and friends.

Hairdresser’s Horror stories

This morning while I was talking to a family member about my book we started to discuss some of the horror stories I used to talk about when I was hairdressing. She asked me why I did not have more of those kinds of stories in my book. I didn’t have to think about it for long before I said. “My book has some of those stories in it but that is not what it is about.” I want this to be inspirational, entertaining and educational as well as telling my story

It would be wonderful if someday someone would tell me that I was the reason they followed their dream.

There are so many stories to be told about hairdressing or barber horrors but I don’t think I need to add more to my book but I would love to hear some of your mishaps. I don’t want this to go from non-fiction to scary.

I have added more to my “A Hairdresser’s Diary ”  my book file = ANNA

A Hairdresser’s Diary / what do you want to read?

I would be interested to know what you would like to read from my book A Hairdresser’s Diary. My story is non fiction and starts when I am six years old. My trials of growing up and what some of the obstacles were that made me who I am to-day. I have stories of my attending hairdressing school, my mentors, customers and those who employed me.
How I became a hairdresser and model.

I have so much to share so please let me know what kind of things you would like to read.

The emotions in my story can be like riding a rollercoaster. I hope that this will give others the will to go fo what they want in life and fight for it.

I have also added a new Flabbermouth story – Introduction to painting – knees up. I hope these stories amuse.
