All too soon gone 2012

Everyone knows the saying, ‘Everything happens for a reason” well I can attest to that first hand. My grandson was playing on my laptop when all of a sudden I heard, “Sorry Grammies.” I knew that very second I was either going to have to rewrite something or reinstall something. At 67 one would think I would know better than to leave programs open or not saved. I could hardly get upset for the stupidity was my own. I took a look to find the last two chapters of the sequel of my book gone. Ronnie could tell by the look on my face that he did something he was not supposed to do. When I asked him what had happened he said, “Grammies, I was writing like you do but, sorry by mistake I disappeared it.” His huge blue eyes welling up made me grab him and as tight as I could without breaking him I said,’Honey it was Grammies fault for not protecting her woke first. You are not to blame. Grammies will start new ok?”
“Ok Grammies. I love you. I will be careful next time ok?”
With that I thought that maybe other things I have done last year should be new. So here it is. I have started a new blog. New colours, posts and new friends. Many are friends of my old friends.

I have had an amazing year 2012. I became a published author, self published at that. I sold over 250 book and 38 e books in less than 7 months. I have been added to the library of St Leonard’s Society and my book A Hairdresser’s Diary is in every one of their group homes. The director of St Leonard’s gave me an amazing compliment. He said, “Chris I cannot think of a greater role model than you for these kids.” I have made friends with some of the most amazing authors, and delightful people anyone could imagine.

I want to thank you all for your support both in my writing and my art ( there are several more place now that have my painting in their homes or places of business since last year)  and when we lost 5 family members to become Angels of God you were there for us.

It is not possible to thank you all enough, it means so much to me. Those who liked me on Facebook and in my Amazon book store made me visible to those who purchased and read my books. Thank you.
This year I published ‘A Hairdresser’s Diary’ – memoirs, ‘A Cut Above Discrimination’ – short story and ‘Versify’ – my book of poems. 2013 will bring a sequel to ‘A Hairdresser’s Diary’.
I look forward to the many new friendships I will make and to continue to enjoy the friendships I have already made.
Bless you all and have a Happy New Year.

Happy New Year, Chris! I can’t believe 2012 is gone all but a few hours. It’s great that you can look back on all your achievements. Congratulations, again, on your books. I wish you much greater success in the year to come. God bless.

It’s that attitude that keeps you going, Chris. Those two chapters will come back, likely better than the original. And you taught your grandson a lesson in both thinking before acting and in forgiveness and love. All the best for 2013.
