Seasons

Summer bridge

Seasons

Those lazy days, those hazy days,
Just before the spring,

Those blowy days and chilly days,
When you don’t hear birds that sing.

It’s on those days, those dreary days,
When you would like to stay in bed,

Just to dream away the hours,
With covers o’er your head.

Those days are last of winter,
T’was a time of joy and fun,

A time of snowy wonder,
But now those days are done.

I know I am discouraged,
I know that I am blue,

I know I’m not the only one,
Because you feel it too.

And then you’ll see a difference,
In the people that you meet,

And it surely won’t be long now’
We’ll complain about the heat!

You started with acrylic and switched to oils? I did the opposite. After working with oils for quite a few years, I decided I couldn’t stand the smell any more, especially on hot summer days, so switched to acrylics. Now I don’t use anything – I simply don’t have the time or inclination to paint. Sometimes there’s a faint desire, but it’s not strong enough to get me going again.

I love the poem. It reminds me of one of my favourite poets – Edgar A. Guest.

Thank you so much for the compliment. I use both acrylic and oil but the waterbased oils. I use them mostly for the raised highlights, trees, mountains ect,
I hate waiting so when in a hurry I do the acrylic only
I still love to paint and right now I am painting two sweatshirts and a ladies top on these one can only use acrylics.

Thank you so very much this is one of my acrylic before I started using oils. The poem I wrote a long time ago but thought it suited the change in the weather.
